When
considering a hot sauce for your food, there are
some general rules.
The
higher the heat level of the sauce used, the
larger the portions of food being applied to.
For instance, Dave's Insanity Sauce is
recommended to be used sparingly in such
applications as spaghetti sauce, stir fry,
Bloody Mary's and Caesar's, and any food item
where a small quantity of sauce will act as a
neutral heat source.
The
more specific the flavour of the sauce, the
more specific the application. A product such
as Mountainman Habanero is very versatile due
to the short list of ingredients and high
pepper content. On the flip side, Jump Up and
Kiss Me has a very specific
(mustard/curry/garlic/pepper) flavour and is
best married with chicken, rice and pasta
dishes.
Many
of the sauces can be used outside of specific
recipes. Most can be added as a cooking
ingredient, a marinade, dip sauce, BBQ grill
baste, or as a finishing condiment.
The
more neutral the taste of the food, the wider
the variety of sauces that would be suitable
accompaniment. Chicken, pork, potatoes, eggs,
rice and veggies are all examples of foods
that would naturally benefit by the addition
of most of our sauces. Fish, fine meats,
soups, and cheese dishes (for example) require
a more specific suggestion.
Many
of the low to medium heat sauces can be used
for dipping, either on their own or combined
with mayonnaise and/or sour cream. For
example, Iguana Gold mixed with mayo produces
a superior dip sauce for veggies and
crackers.
We
recommend that you try the sauce before using
it. Imagination can be very strong catalyst.
Many folks have written us with their favorite
recipes/applications, but in fact the
possibilities are endless…you be the judge,
and the master chef!
